Darts fans around the world are eagerly anticipating the return of the PDC World Matchplay this weekend.

Dave ‘Chizzy’ Chisnall will be in Milton Keynes representing Team Harrows.

Chizzy is in fine form as he comes off the back of a solid return to competitive darts last week. He finished 7th on the Summer Series Order of Merit, with the highlight coming on Day 2 as he made the final.

In recent years, Dave has produced some solid performances at the World Matchplay, reaching the Quarter Finals 5 times in the last 7 years. He will certainly be looking to replicate some of the form he was in for the majors at the end of 2019 and go a bit further this time around.

He opens up his WM campaign on Monday evening with a tough First Round match against Vincent van der Voort. These two last met on stage at the 2020 World Championship, where Chizzy ran out a deserving 3-1 winner. He’ll no doubt be looking for a similar result to set the wheels in motion for a good tournament.

As we all know, it won’t be the World Matchplay exactly how we all know and love it, however, a change of venue could certainly play into the hands of some players; let’s hope this is the case for our man, Chizzy!
